LaVerne Mickey Howard, of White Lake, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 76 years old. She was born on August 11, 1934 in Green Bay, a daughter of William and Christina (Hermans) Vogels. She married Clyde Howard on August 19, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. He survives.

She was a graduate of Kaukauna High School in 1955. Mrs. Howard lived in Detroit Michigan area for 20 years, returning to Langlade County in 1966. She worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Company factory in Antigo then as a certified nurse's assistant at Langlade Hospital and Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center retiring in 1979.

She reupholstered and detailed antique cars, enjoyed singing and making and painting wooden lawn ornaments.

Survivors including her husband are three daughters Debbie Howard and fianc'ee Wayne Schroepfer, Antigo, Genevieve Kay (Ray) Ponshock, White Lake, Barbara Groshek and fianc'ee Randy Plautz, Mole Lake; three sons Ted (Alice) Howard, Antigo, Patrick Howard, Antigo, Mickeal Howard, Antigo; 25 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren; three sisters Marlene (Francis) Voissem, Neenah, Sharon (Ken) Koester, Kaukauna, Dorothy (Ralph) Gallow, Black Creek; a brother Robert (Margie) Vogels, Wausaukee.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ellen King, a son Timothy Howard Sr., a grandchild Heidi Howard, and a sister Teresa Vogels.

Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Pastor Ervin Messer officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at Bradley Funeral Home.
