Bettie Baker, 92, of Raymore, MO, formerly of Alma, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Foxwood Springs in Raymore.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with William W. Harlow officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Concordia Senior Center in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.

Born August 12, 1928 in Alma, she was the daughter of the late William Christopher Edwards and Betty Peacock Edwards. Bettie was raised in the Lafayette County area and was a graduate of Concordia High School. On March 25, 1950 she married Henry S. Baker who preceded her in death on June 29, 2008. Bettie and Henry lived in the Kansas City area for many years where she worked as a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service. They returned to Alma in 1981 and were members of Alma Federated Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Rayfield of Raymore and Christine Brookshier of Independence; three grandchildren: Tara Nash, Scott Nash and Robert Nash (Angella); three great-grandchildren: Ashton Elledge, Ryleigh Elledge and Knox Nash; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Edwards; and two sons-in-law, Jim Brookshier and Danny Rayfield.
