"Mrs. Sarah Devore, widow of John Devore, an old resident of New Albany died yesterday morning at her home in Tuley avenue, at the foot of Silver Hills. Her death, which was due to gastritis, was unexpected. She became ill Tuesday, but it was not until yesterday morning, a short time before her death, that her condition became alarming.
Mrs. Devore was 74 years old and had lived all her life in New Albany.
Three sons and a daughter, William, James and Thomas Devore and Mrs. Joseph Schulte, survive her. She also is survived by three brothers, Commodore Richardson, a member of the New Albany police force; Thomas Richardson, of New Albany, and William Richardson, of Alexandria, Ind. Mrs. Devore was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic church.
The funeral services will be held at the church to-morrow morning at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in Holy Trinity cemetery."
