A native of Washington County, he was born on April 14, 1946, to the late Theo R. and Veneta Kays Hardin.
He was a member of the River of Life Church, a 1964 graduate of Springfield High School, a graduate of St. Catharine College and Campbellsville College, an army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge # 50 F & AM and was the retired plant manager of Bluegrass Dairy and Food Company.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Johnnie R. Hardin on June 15, 2017, and a sister, Lois Thompson on April 17, 2019.
Survivors include his wife, Darnell "Darnie" Bradshaw Hardin; two daughters, Dana Carrico (Steve) and Dawn Borders; a son, Trevor Hardin all of Springfield; five grandchildren, Payton Carrico (Renee), Mason Carrico (Taylor), Kiersten Hardin, Aliera Hardin and Ruger Hardin; two great grandchildren, Jaxxon Lunsford and Emberlee Lunsford; two sisters, Glenda Wilson of Louisville and Lynne Lewis of Springfield and three brothers, Bill Hardin (Fran) of Springfield, Donnie Hardin (Susan) of Bardstown and Rick Hardin (Marian) of Louisville.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, May 29th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Shelton, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Carrico, Payton Carrico, Mason Carrico, Bill Hardin, Donnie Hardin and Rick Hardin.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Friday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
