Roger Bruce Peterson, Sr., United States Navy Veteran passed away peacefully at his home in Coldwater, MS, on May 26, 2021. The family will welcome friends at a visitation on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. A committal service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Peterson was born on January 29, 1944, in Abbotsford, WI. He served his country in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Independence at Portsmouth, VA. After his service in the military, Roger was employed by Holiday Inn and later with Brinkman Corporation. Mr. Peterson was married to his wife, Helena Singer Peterson, for 54 years and together they had nine children. Roger enjoyed gardening and was a true jack of all trades.

Roger leaves behind his wife, Helena Singer Peterson of Coldwater; four sons, Roger Peterson Jr. of Coldwater, Charles (Casandra)Peterson of Bartlett, TN, Joseph (Jennifer) Peterson of Coldwater and Joshua Peterson of Coldwater; daughters, Tammy Peterson (Kyle) Wilson of Mooresville, NC, Tina Peterson (Paul) Umberger of Coldwater, Zadok Peterson (Tracy) Loveless of Byhalia, MS, Tabitha Peterson (Heath) Hooper of Batesville, MS and Samantha Peterson of Munford, TN; twenty-four grandchildren, Ryan Peterson, Daniel Baldwin III, Heather Loveless, Brittany Peterson, Jordan Peterson, Haley Loveless, Heidi Loveless, Travis Simpson, Kyndle Wilson, Michael Helms, Ricky Shaw, Daniel Glover, Macayla Helms, Nick Jerden, Nicholas Shaw, Ansley Wilson, Kaitlyn Kitchens, Benjamin Shaw, Elizabeth Shaw, Kaleb Kitchens, Zoey Jerden, Mackenzie Hooper, Savannah Shaw and Daxton Peterson; 4 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, Braxton, and Blakeley Dabbs; sister, Laura Jean Davis of Tomah, WI; a nephew, Ed and niece, Vicky of Tomah, WI; cousins, Charlene (Don) Galston of Black River Falls, WI and Mary Kline of Tomah, WI. He also leaves behind countless friends, and untold beneficiaries of his random acts of kindness.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Kline Peterson of Orlando, FL, his father George Peterson of Tomah, WI, his daughter-in-law, Tracie Peterson of Bartlett, TN.
