Funeral services will be 12 PM Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Dr. Sandra Avent will be eulogist. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home.
She was a graduate of Bedford County Training School, where she was crowned homecoming queen. Emma as she was fondly called , for many years worked for the Rappley family of Shelbyville. She was very close to Bettye Rappley, who often spoke of her as family. She later retired as supply clerk from the old Bedford County Hospital.
Emma was an active member of Scott's United Methodist Church until her health started to fail her and she was no longer able to attend.
Willie Emma was born the seventh child of twelve on April 12, 1931 in Wartrace, TN, to the late Rufus and Clara Mai (Nelson) Howard. She was preceded in death by nine of her siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memories are three sons Charles, of Cincinnati, OH, Michael of Killeen TX, and David of Shelbyville, TN, and two daughters Bonita,(Fred) Frazier, of Rockvale, TN and Phyllis Green of Shelbyville, TN. She also leaves two loving and devoted sisters Jean Gregory of Indiana and Joyce Neely of Illinois. Ten grandchild, eleven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
