Mark's family will receive friends between 6:00 – 8:00PM, Monday, May 31, 2021 in the Azalea Room of Davis Funeral Service, 1003 E. Franklin St. Monroe, NC, 28112.
Services to honor Mark's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 1 in the H. Vann Davis III Memorial Chapel of Davis Funeral Service, officiated by Barry Godfrey. Interment will immediately follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mark was born on June 11, 1964 in Anson County, NC, a son of Michael Rex James and Carol Faye Tarlton.
Mark was a hard worker who drove trucks for Huntley Oil & Gas Company. When he wasn't driving trucks, he and his wife Veronica could be found on his Harley E-Glide. A member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, Mark took pride in his heritage. He was an adventurous and fearless spirit that would try anything once. He loved to hunt, but only deer, as previous attempts with bears proved to be unsuccessful.
Although he had many interests throughout his life, nothing was more important to him than his family. He loved them all fiercely and was always there when you needed him.
Remembered as having a heart of gold, Mark never met a stranger, and his mark on all those lives he touched will be cherished forever.
Those left to carry on Mark's memory include his father, Michael James (Marian); his mother, Carol Tarlton; his wife, Veronica Anderson James; his daughter, Kristi Grady (Shannon); his daughter, Erica Lopez; his son, Joseph "Joey" Markum James Jr.; his son Joshua James; his son, Keaton Anderson; his daughter, Sheyanne Anderson; his brother, Kenneth James (Christena); his sister, Melissa Durham (Jack); and ten grandchildren.
