BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Linda Sue "Susie" Dodd, 71, of West Milford, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, with her family by her side.
She was born March 20, 1950, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Nemes) Surock.
Linda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Charles Dodd. Also surviving are her beloved daughter, Sherri; grandson, Charles Sharpe and great-grandchildren Emma and Eian Sharpe. Her sisters, Sandra Flint and Patricia Fox; her brothers, Johnny and Billy Surock and many nieces and nephews complete her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Bryan Sharpe and five siblings, Tommy, Bobby and Jimmy Surock, Martha Elliott and Nancy George.
Linda was a loving wife, mother and sister. She will always be remembered as having the gentlest soul that anyone has ever known. She worked for 31 years at United Hospital Center as the head cook. Like her full heart, she made sure that everyone left her home with a full stomach. She was well- known for her famous cabbage rolls, Hungarian rice, potato salad, nut rolls and so much more. Linda was a proud member of the Lighthouse Chapel Church.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 3 - 5 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021, where a celebration of her life will be held at 5 p.m. with Pastor Harley Jeffries presiding.
