Sandra Douglas Nichols was born June 5, 1959 in Decatur County to Ruby Douglas Peterson and the late Jerry Hampton. On January 8, 2021 she transitioned to be with the lord.
Sandra Douglas Nichols graduated Bainbridge High School in Decatur County, GA in May 1977. She became a member of Douglas Temple ( later known as Greater Mt. Calvary) at an early age . She was a former usher and choir member at a young age until she later became a Church Youth President, District Youth President, New Millennium Diocese Field Worker, and she currently holds the title of South Central Georgia District Youth President. She loved being in the church . Her pastor is Jr. Bishop Earl O. Germany.
Sandra worked as a Decatur County fire and public safety dispatcher from September 1977 - September 1979. On September 10, 1979 she was promoted to Bainbridge Public Safety's Records Clerk where she retired in May 2003.
Sandra married Wilfred (Rusty) Nichols April 16, 1988. They enjoyed 32 years together. Sandra is preceded in death by her daddy: Tommy Lee Douglas Sr., her step-son: Derrick Pettiford; her siblings: Helen Hampton, Jeanette Hampton, Jerry Hampton, and Larry Hampton, Ft. Myers FL.
