Rick was a carpenter by trade and anyone who had ever seen his work could recognize the pride he took in making sure the job was done correctly and to his exacting standards. He considered himself a woodworker to the highest degree and enjoyed being able to use his skills in creating beautiful works of art in the building of decks particularly. He didn't just want his clients to have a deck added to their houses, he wanted them to have a beautiful addition to their homes that was beautiful and unique and would be a source of pride for the homeowner, built to stand the test of time and as a testimony to his skills.
He also enjoyed playing guitar and singing, entertaining his family and friends with his passion for music. And he looked forward to the time when all his 6 boys were old enough to go camping and fishing with Geepaw, as he was affectionately known as.
