"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal."

My dad, was an amazing father, grandfather, son and brother. Dad was my rock, my pillar of strength and my friend. Dad would bend over backward to help anyone in need...he didn't have a selfish bone in his body. The world is a much colder and dimmer place without him in it.

Dad had a great dry humor, the Grand Professor of the "Dad joke" He also had a brilliant mind. He spent his entire life in the quest of knowledge. The phrase avid reader doesn't do it justice. He could read, write in Greek, Hebrew and Latin. He was a student of Philosophy, Science, Religion and all things Abraham Lincoln. Dad would argue, but he had a photographic memory. Dad could recall word for word what he had read in a book he read several years ago. He memorized the entire Periotic Table, just because he could. He loved Philosophy and poetry and could quote everything from Shakespeare to Poe and Voltaire to Rousseau

My dad loved a good poker game. He taught all of his grandkids to play when they were young. He loved to fish.. another skill he passed onto his grandkids. He liked to play putt-putt, he stayed close with his High School friends and would attend their yearly reunions without fail. He loved to teach his grandkids new things. One summer, he helped his 2 grandsons memorize the Secretaries General of the U.N... just because.

He like to dress up as a silly Santa for the kids when they were young. He once drove from Nashville TN to Ft Hood Texas in a ridiculous suite just to be ready for the kids when he got out of his car. He enjoyed yearly trips with his 2 brothers. Each year they would pick an an area of the country to go see. They would go to Civil War Battle Grounds, National Monuments, and little out of the way places like the Geographical Center of the United States.

But most of all, above all else, he was devoted to me and his grandkids. Dad was ALWAYS there for us, no matter what. To help us, guide us, give us advice or just a good laugh.

My life will never be the same without him.
I LOVE YOU DAD!
