Dee was born in Ottawa, Kansas, to Guy & Myrtle Pearce. She had two younger siblings - JoAnn, and Ron.

The family moved to Golden, CO in 1933.

She attended Mitchell Elementary, then on to Columbia Elementary in North Denver after the family moved there in 1936.

Dee then went on to attend Skinner Junior High, and graduated from North High School.

Part of this time, the family lived at 38th & Clay St, above the "Clay St. Cleaners", which her father had started, in addition to his occupation as a tailor.

The family attended North Presbyterian Church, where she began teaching Sunday School at the age of 16.

During her junior year at North High, she was elected as Honorary Cadet Sargent, and later, Honorary Cadet Captain, in the R.O.T.C.

During this time, she became friends with another Cadet Captain, named Stuart Clark.

Stu introduced her to his older brother Bill, who had just returned from serving in the Navy, during WWII.

Bill & Dee began dating, and were eventually married in 1948. They remained married for 64 years, until Bill's death in 2012.

After the wedding, since Bill was still attending the University of Colorado, they moved to Boulder.

They lived in an 18' trailer in "Vets Ville".

Dee worked at a Dry Cleaners, and later as a long distance operator, at the Boulder AT&T.

In 1950, after Bill's graduation, they moved back to Denver, where Bill began working at the Central Bank & Trust Co. and she went to work at Ballinger & Robinson Reality, and then to Denver Fire Clay.

In 1952, they bought their first house on S. Shoshone St.

In 1956, they bought an older, but larger home at 39th & Xavier.

Bill continued to work at the Bank, and Dee was a stay-at home mom.

She became active in P.T.A., Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Little League, Church Women's Groups, and Sunday School.

In 1964, they purchased a plot of land at 35th and Holland St, in Wheatridge, where they designed and built their final home.

In 1965, she decided that she wanted to re-enter the workplace, and become a school teacher.

She made the decision to attend the newly opened Metropolitan State Collage.

She was nervous about returning to academia after 17 years, and was concerned about competing with all of the younger students. After a while, however, she was looked upon as the "Dorm Mother", and was often approached for advice, and help, (like sewing on buttons)

Regardless of her apprehensions, she excelled in school, posting only one "C" during 4 years of college.

She was elected to the Student Senate. Was on the Dean's & President's Lists regularly.

She was named to the '68-'69 edition of "Who's Who in America's Colleges & Universities".

Dee graduated in 1969, and started working for the Jefferson County Schools, where she served for 19 years, teaching 1st to 5th grades.

She and Bill retired in 1988.

She continued to remain active in church and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband and siblings.
