Ralph Lee Hall, 96, of Tow TX, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 21, 2021.

He was born on December 3rd, 1924 to Mona Esther Teare and June James Hall in Watson, Missouri, and was married for 53 years to Mozelle Standard of Artesia, NM.

In April, 1943 Uncle Sam "invited Ralph to join him in the 5th Air Force." As a teletype operator he was assigned to the 1093rd signal detachment in Dutch New Guinea then later to the 1375th Signal Co. on Biak Island then to Layte In the Philippine Islands. Decorations and certifications include the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Service Star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was then honorably discharged in 1945.

After military service, Ralph began his career in telephone and communications work starting as a new construction lineman for Mountain Bell in New Mexico. He worked as a central office repairman in Artesia, NM and then was promoted to central office supervisor in Roswell, NM.

Ralph retired from Ma Bell in 1978 to relocate from Roswell to his favorite place in the world, Lake Buchanan, TX. He was an outdoorsman. From hunting and camping to becoming an avid fisherman, moving to Tow allowed him to feed that passion. Ralph never met a catfish he didn't love to filet.

He also had a love for music and 2-stepping with his beloved significant other, La Wanda Smith of Tow. He was a true servant: serving God, country and family. What his family and friends will remember most about Ralph is his fun-loving nature and positive attitude toward everyone he met. His advice to "do your best" will always be remembered.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, Mozelle Hall, his brother Robert Hall and sister June Lottes.

Survivors include La Wanda Smith, his significant other for 18 years, daughter Tralene Embry and son-in-law Jim of Tijeras, NM, sons Robert Hall of Roswell, NM and Brian Hall and daughter-in-law, Vicki of Keller, TX, La Wanda's daughters Desree Reynolds of Buchanan Dam, TX, Dondi Hines of Joppa, TX and Danette Contreras of Austin, TX. Also included are 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
.........

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 26th from 5pm to 8pm at the Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home chapel with graveside service to be held at 11am on Thursday, May 27th at the Tow Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, June 19th at the Tow Baptist Church at 1pm. Refreshments to follow.

Special thanks from the family to Compassus Hospice of Round Rock, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Ralph to the Lakeshore Library, 7346 SH/261 Buchanan Dam or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
