The family moved from Tulsa, Okla. to Rogers, Ark. in 1945. After graduating from Rogers [Ark.] High School, Monte joined the U.S. Army where he served as a mechanic. After leaving the military he was a driver at Jones Truck Lines, worked as a welder on the Alaskan pipeline, returned to Rogers to work as a chief fleet mechanic for Bell Telephone, and then at JB Hunt Transportation as a mechanic and driver trainer.
After retiring he never turned down the opportunity to work on a diesel engine, and served as a master mechanic to students at Rogers [Ark.] High School. He also provided auto repair maintainance for local agencies, including the Benton County [Ark.] Sheriff's Office and the City of Garfield, Ark. He was a mentor to many future mechanics. He was a member of the Garfield [Ark.] Church of Christ.
Monte was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Isabel "Izzy". He is survived by son Monte C. Moore (Chelle) of Bentonville, Ark., brother Gary Moore of Simi Valley, Calif., grandchildren Parker, Cooper, and Emmy Moore, five nieces, one nephew, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Visitation will be at 10 am Thurs., May 27, 2021 followed by the service at 11:30 at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 No. 4th St., Rogers, Ark. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery, 3800 W. Walnut St., Rogers, Ark. 72756.
