Rachel Tyler Burrows, 66, of Dorchester, died enroute to Millville Hospital. She was being rushed to the hospital in the Leesburg Fire Co. ambulance at the time of her death. Attempts, including an escort by local police, to get her there for treatment, proved to no avail. Death was attributed to a stroke.
Mrs. Burrows was a former Millville resident who resided in Dorchester for the past 26 years.
She is survived by her husband, William F.; five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Reeves, Mrs. Lois Ackley and Mrs. Joan Berry, all of Millville; Mrs. Doris Riggins, Dorchester, and Mrs. Shirley Lyons, Leesburg; three sons, Kenneth R. Legg, Millville, and Robert Legg and Richard Burrows, both of Dorchester.
Other survivors include three step-sons, William Burrows, Newfield; Donal Burrows, Chargin Falls, Ohio, and James Burrows, Cape Kennedy, Fla.; 25 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Gibbs, Millville.
Funeral services will be held from the Nelson W. Laning Funeral Home, Leesburg, on Friday at 2 p.m. with burial following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday night from 7 to 8:30 o'clock.
