William S. Stanley

William S. "Bill" Stanley, 79, of Belpre passed away May 8, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 30, 1925, at Bridgeport, W.Va., a son of the late Van and Fannie Taylor Stanley. Bill was a member of the Winding Road Church of Christ and was a retired carpenter being a member of the local labor union. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Dorcas J. Shutts Balderson Stanley; one daughter, Janice Haas of Sarasota, Fla., two sons, Steven L. Yoho of Parkersburg and David R. Yoho of Walker; one stepdaughter, Sarah Hinzman of Parkersburg; two stepsons, Roy Balderson and David Balderson, both of Parkersburg; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Victor Stanley of Winter Haven, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his second wife, D. Irene Stanley; and a daughter, Lynn Peterson.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg, with Evangelist Keith Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 15. The family will be receiving friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
