Jack Eldon Thompson, 93, passed away May 19, 2021, at his home in Macksville, Kansas. He was born on Jan. 28, 1928, in Sutherland, the son of Orville Dean and Fraukalena (Kruger) Thompson. Jack was a resident of Flats and later ran a ranch in Garden County for 25 years. On June 13, 1954, he married Pauline June Ring. His final days were spent with his daughter in Macksville, Kansas. Jack was a man of all trades. He was a member of the Arthur Baptist Church, a welder and a mechanic. He liked flying his airplane and moving dirt with his Caterpillar. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Thompson; and sister, Evelyn Shimmin. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Deborah (Gregg) Maseberg of Macksville and Ilene (Marvin) Withers of Loveland, Colorado; brother, Orville Dean Thompson of Sutherland; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at the Arthur Baptist Church with Pastor Sandi John and Pastor Blake Wilkes presiding. Burial will follow at the Arthur Cemetery.
