Her marriage license shows her as "Mattie Winkler". A Montague Co., TX land record dated February 1881 shows her as "Martha Bray" and as "Martha wife of T. W. Bray". A January 1907 land record, with her husband, lists her as "Nannie Bray". Her tombstone reads "Nannie Bray". She bore the nickname of "Nannie" very early on before she became a grandmother. Original bible records of her children have various handwritings in the entries of her children leading us to discount the two entries showing her name as "Nancy". We continue to search and hope one day to finally confirm her full name. Current theory is her full name might have been Martha Ann (with Nannie a nickname for Ann) Winkler.
