"Stephen Alton Curry
Newburgh - Stephen Alton Curry, a longtime Middletown resident, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh. He was 55. The son of Sheba M. Garlington Curry and the late Vaudry Curry, he was born on June 18, 1952 in Baltimore, Md. Stephen worked as a hotel technician and served his community as a volunteer at Bon Secour Hospital. He was an avid fisherman and was always ready to help anyone in need. He is survived by his mother, Sheba, of Greenwood Lake; brothers, Edmund Curry of Middletown, Alan Curry of Severen, Md., Craig Curry of Greenwood Lake and Garrett Curry of Pen-Argyl, Pa.; and four sisters, Sherilyn Curry of San Diego, Calif., Thalia Brent of North Pole, Alaska, Heather Curry of Huntsville, Ala., and Carla Curry-Evans of Los Angeles, Calif. He was predeceased by his father, Vaudry Curry and one brother, Vaudry Curry Jr. of Maryland. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 9 from 9 to 10 a.m. at The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 70 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 at the church. Pastor Fred Dana will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Middletown. Classmate (who assaulted me in middleschool cafeteria, while the students and teacher just stood there -- after my father had been kind enough to teach him how to swim) and went to high school, and he showed up (a county away) at the college where I was employed -- making it difficult for me there, also.
