Ocala - Janice Battle Lewis, 82, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born October 11, 1938 in Ocala, FL to the late Clyde Sidney Battle and Alma Mims Battle. She has resided in Ocala all her life, graduating from Ocala High school, and was the founder of BoKay Flowers in 1983. Janice loved watching her Tampa Bay Rays in her spare time and spending time with her family. She had an infectious laugh and will always be remembered by it and how you could hear it from a mile away.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Odell Battle; sisters, Bettye Harris and Virginia Seiler.
Janice is survived by her loving husband of nearly 65 years, Mack Lewis; her children, whom nearly all were born on the same day of the month, 16, which is Janice's favorite number: Deborah Lewis Hulsey (Carl), Randy Lewis (Cathy), Susan Pritchard (Craig) and Ronald Lewis (Maggie); brother, Reggie Battle, of Morristion, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Nowlin (Darrin), Brandi Oliver Alonzo, Meghan Pritchard (Billy), Brian Pritchard (Aime), Jennifer Mulvey, Christopher Lewis, Trenton Lewis (Sam), Jordan Lewis; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Silver Springs, 5151 NE 35th Street, Silver Springs, FL with Pastor Wayne Hunter officiating.
