AGE 72 YEARS
Michael J. Sweeney of Billerica, formerly of Watertown, passed away, May 22, 2021. Beloved husband of 51 years of Geraldine C. (Goodwin) Sweeney. Devoted father of Leah Caruso and her husband Joseph of Chelmsford and Sean Sweeney of Billerica. Loving grandfather of 3 grandchildren all of Chelmsford. Brother of Joanne Burke of Milford, NH. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mike grew up in Watertown MA and was a 1966 graduate of Don Bosco High School in Boston. After graduation he joined the IBEW Local 103 of Boston and has been a proud member for 54 years. He was an active member of the Billerica and Watertown Elks and would often be seen volunteering at many activities or socializing with his friends.. He was a former coach for the Billerica Little League and was responsible for the initial lighting of the Vining School fields, something he was always proud of. Mike also attended St. Luke's School in Belmont and to this day would get together with his classmates and reminisce about the "good times."
Arrangements: Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa Church, Billerica.
Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
