Carolyn Jean Rauhuff-Rogers, age 78 of Sevierville, gained her Angel Wings on May 22, 2021 surrounded by her family and friends.
Carolyn was a member of Providence Baptist Church and loved attending church until her health made it impossible. She was preceded in death by husband Harley Lewis, parents Elben and Jean White and infant brother James.
Survived by daughter Sherri and husband Jeff Kirby and grand dog Isabelle, husband Bill Rogers, brother David White and his children Sara Berry (Logan, AJ and Brooks) and Laura Dunn (Matt, Norah and Easton), children Tim Webb, Theresa Middleton, Billy Rogers and wife Bobbie, Donna McClure and husband Larry, 9 grand children and 7 great grand children. All of whom she loved deeply.
Carolyn lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker. She had a tender servant's heart, and spent her life caring for others and she gave it her whole heart. The career she was most proud of was her work at Fairyland Daycare Center for nearly 30 years. The children who passed through those doors were loved beyond measure, they were her babies, and she still had contact with them until her death. She loved to cook, camping, fishing, sewing and the love of a good yard sale but most of all spending time with her family. She inherited her mother's sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh.
She fought death hard but with grace and dignity. She would say "I'm ready to go, but just not now. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 —"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
Special thanks to Mira, her special nurse, and all the UT Hospice girls and Pastor Bill Scott, whom she loved to hear sing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Attn: Wayne Loveday, 1436 Emily Drive, Sevierville, TN 37876
The family will receive friends from 12PM -1PM Wednesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with service to follow at 1PM. Rev. Clay Sutton will be officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
