Ronald "Ron" Virgil Wagner, 78, of Aberdeen, SD passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Service is 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Aberdeen First United Methodist Church, Aberdeen, with Pastor Derek Baum officiating.

Entombment is at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and also view the service at www.schriversmemorial.com.

Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the mortuary, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church.

Ronald Virgil Wagner was born December 14, 1942 in Redfield, SD to Virgil and Crystal (Miller) Wagner. Ron attended country school, Tulare High School, and graduated from Miller High School in 1961. On April 12, 1964, Ron married Joyce Waller at First Methodist Church in Alpena, SD. They lived near Tulare, SD until moving to Aberdeen in 1968. Ron served six years with the National Guard. In 1971, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics from Northern State University in two years and ten months while working full time at All American Freight. Ron enjoyed delivering freight to businesses in Aberdeen and discussing their trade and gaining further education from business owners. He worked for All American Freight for 20 years before assisting with the establishment of Kitchen Tune Up. During this time, he became known for his expertise in Commercial Real Estate and as a mentor to business owners in the community. Ron started Wagner Holdings, LLC with his wife, Joyce, which partnered with many other entities. His passion was helping entrepreneurs by assisting real estate purchases for those with business visions pursuing the American Dream.

Ron enjoyed socializing, reading, playing cards, fishing, hunting, and traveling. His travels, along with his lifelong partner Joyce, included New Zealand, China, Egypt, Russia, Iceland, Australia, many trips to Europe and all Caribbean Islands as well as a 49-day cruise around South America. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared Ron's life are his wife, Joyce; his daughter, Dr. Angela (Chris) Hase and grandchildren, Adrianna and Andrew Hase of Aberdeen; his daughter, Dr. Becky (Ron Yahne) Wagner of Rapid City, SD; his brother, Rick (Judy) Wagner of Tulare, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Virgil and Crystal Wagner.
