Anna M. Spencer, 81, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away at her home on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018. She was born on Feb. 19, 1937, the daughter of George and Edith (Critchfield) McBurney in Normal, Illinois. On Feb. 3, 1962, she was united in marriage to David Spencer in Sandusky, Michigan.
She was employed by Gladwin Community Schools as a 5th grade teacher until her retirement in 1998 after 29 years of teaching.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Dave Spencer of Gladwin; son, Steve (Alexandra) Spencer of Toronto, ON; grandchildren, Jon, Emily and Alasdair; siblings, Harley McBurney of Florida, Jackie McBurney of Normal, Harry McBurney of Normal and Tim McBurney of Normal; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark; sisters, Patty and Mary.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Joe Dorais on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, 11 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Gladwin, Michigan. She will be laid to rest at Sherman Twp. (Skeels) Cemetery.
