She is survived by her husband of 54 years; a daughter, Beth George (Doug); a grandson, Adam Kuruzovich (Lindsy); three great-grandchildren: Elliott, Jaxson and Lillyana; two sisters, Mary Dibert (Joe) and Daisy Morgret; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Susan, Walter, Sadona, Marie, Dorothy, Chester and Sandra.
Ruth was a 1960 graduate of Roaring Spring High School, where she had won a state home economics award. She worked as a cook/chef at Haney's and Larchmont and had also volunteered for two years in the Brethren Volunteer Services. She loved to bake and cook and she made and decorated cakes. She also enjoyed sewing and making flower arrangements, and she especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring. A public Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. To honor Ruth's memory, donations may be made to: Blair County Association for the Blind, 300 Fifth Ave., Altoona, PA 16602. Arrangements are by the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.
