Richard J. Roesch, Former Grocer, Dies In Hospital
Richard Joseph Roesch, 64, former well known Sandusky grocer and a resident of 1539 Camp St., died Thursday night in Providence Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Roesch operated a grocery on W. Monroe Street for 25 years and during the past 11 years was an employee of the New Departure division of General Motors Corp. He was a member of Perseverance Lodge 329, F&AM and St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his widow, Viola; three sons, Richard J., Sandusky; James C, Marysville and Thomas J. in the U.S. foreign service; three stepsons, Richard, Robert and Lamont Keech, all Sandusky; a daughter, Mrs. Christine Leibach, Sandusky; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Donald Canino, Mrs. George Bowers and Mrs. Lawrence Incorvia, all Sandusky; Mrs. George Belak, Bay View and Mrs. Alvin Vartorella, Berlin Heights;, eight grandchildren; six brothers, George and Roy, Toledo; Lee, Charles and Earl, all Sandusky and Harold, Cleveland; six sisters, Mrs. John Ritzenthaler, Cleveland: Mrs. Gilbert Camp, Melbourne, Fla; Mrs. Charles Shaw, Mrs. Ruth Holbrook and Mrs. Virgil Carroll, all Los Angeles and Mrs. Nicholas Schlaff, Toledo and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kestina, in 1945 and a brother, Ralph, in 1954.
Funeral arrangements are to be announced later by the Richard Bertsch Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Richard J. Roesch will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Bertsch Funeral Home, the Rev. C. J. Mittermaier, officiating. Burial is to be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy, if desired, may be made to the memorial fund of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
