James "Jim" Patton, age 73, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Friday, May 21, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 16, 1948, to Ralph and Jeanne Patton in Lima, Ohio.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He worked at Johns-Manville from where he retired in 2014.

Jim was a jack of all trades and liked the outdoors. He enjoyed traveling especially to the ocean. Jim loved spending time with his family, most importantly his grandchildren. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish Jim's memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Patton; daughters, Marcia (Chad) Patton-Johnson and Amy (Greg) Bowser; grandchildren, Casie, Britney, Alyssa, Leah, and Paige; siblings, Jerry Patton, Kayrl Sue Boos, Joan (John) Prymicz and Ron (Karen) Patton; and many dear friends.

There will be no visitation for Jim and services will be private for the family.

Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo assisted the family with professional services.
