Linda L. Turner Barker, 78, of Table Grove, passed away at 3:25 PM, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born on November 26, 1942, in Schuyler County, Illinois, the daughter of Clinton and Mary (Fuqua) Gregory. She first married Charles Turner on April 15, 1960, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1986. She later married John L. Barker on February 4, 1995, in Rushville and he survives.
Also surviving are one son Marty Turner and wife Dena of Beardstown, one daughter Jodi Draper and husband Matt of Hutsonville, step daughter Kara Pigg and husband Lewis of Canton, ten grandchildren Bret Turner, Brian Turner and wife Tiffany, Allix Reich and husband Erik, Bailey Draper, Katie Draper, Wyatt Draper, Jacy Pigg, Avery Pigg, Sarah Calvin and Grace Calvin, three great grandchildren Hailey Turner, Mason Turner and Evyllen Reich, two step brothers Norman Downs and wife Elaine of St. Charles, Missouri and Raymond Downs and wife Karen of Tillamook, Oregon, aunt Joanne Grate of Rushville, her dog Gracie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father John Harlan Downs, son Kevin Allen Turner and stepson John Bradley Barker.
Linda was a 1960 graduate of Rushville High School.
She was a homemaker for many years and was a cook at both Beardstown Christian Academy and VIT School. She was member of The Crossing in Macomb. She enjoyed riding horses, traveling and seeing new things. She loved to visit with family and friends. Her most cherished time was being with her grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 28, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Pastor Ben Ellefritz officiating. Interment will follow in the Harris Cemetery at Table Grove. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 27, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Memorials are suggested to Beardstown Christian Academy or The Crossing Women's Ministries.
