Christopher "Kit" Scripp, 81, of Bayard, W.Va., passed away, Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland. Born Feb. 23, 1939, in Kempton, he was the son of the late Tony F. Scripp Sr. and Mary Y. (Kuhn) Scripp.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sandy Huffman Bennett and infants, Karen and Betty Zane Scripp.

Kit served in the U.S. Army before beginning a 41-year career with WMATA (DC Metro), earning the distinction of being named employee of the year in 2001. Kit was a member of the Mt. Storm Presbyterian Church.

Kit is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judith Scripp; son, Tony "Shane" Scripp; daughters, Kathleen Crosby (Keith), Terry L. Miller; three granddaughters, Jamie Crosby, Jessica Anduray (Danny) and Katie Barricklow (Drew); siblings, Tony Scripp Jr. (Marian), Ronald "Bob" Scripp (Charlotte), Ramona Adams, Kathy Pelle and Jeff Scripp; brother-in-law, Jack Howard; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

At his request, Kit donated his body to the WVU Gifts Registry.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Celebration of Life services will be announced at a later date.
