Esther Strick entered into rest on April 3, 2006, in Spokane, Washington.

She was born in Straw, Montana, to Carl and Lottie Miller on April 4, 1909. Her family moved to Spokane, where she attended Garfield Grade School and graduated from North Central High School.

Esther married Herbert Strick on March 1, 1929, and had three children: Ruth Bolser, Howard Strick and Margaret Crowley. Esther had been in the donut business with her husband and son, first working for her father who operated Miller's Donuts, which later became Strick's Donuts.

She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She always had a smile for her friends at Lilac Plaza and enjoyed her garden.

Esther was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church for 80 years.

She is survived by: daughters, Ruth Bolser and Margaret Crowley; daughter-in-law, Mabel Strick; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Herb; son, Howard; grandson, Ed Strick; and granddaughter, Gail Crowley.

A celebration of her life will be Saturday April 8, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe Street. Visitation will be Friday, April 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
