Merilee Ann Brooks, 87, Galesburg, died at 3:13 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2017, in Care Center of Abingdon.
Merilee was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Canton, the daughter of Bernard James and Veletta G. (Lindsey) Beasley. She married Carl Dallas Brooks on Oct. 9, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1992.
Merilee is survived by one sister, Beverly Williams of Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She worked in the office at Caterpillar in Peoria for many years.
In her free time Merilee enjoying golfing and traveling. She loved her visits to Bermuda and Hawaii. She also enjoyed walking and reading.
No public services are planned. Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
