Louise Johnson King
July 3, 1925 – January 20, 2021

Louise King, 95, (known to many as Weedie) peacefully went to be with our Lord from the comfort of her own home in Silver Spring, Maryland, on January 20, 2021.
She was born July 3, 1925, as Margaret Louise Johnson, in the District of Columbia. She grew up in Bladensburg, MD and moved to Silver Spring, Maryland when she married her husband, the late George B. King. She only lived in two homes her entire life. All who knew Louise, knew that she lived her entire life to the fullest, and her passion for travel was fulfilled with trips around the world. She loved her job as a bank teller of 12 years before she was married, and she told us many good stories about her experiences. She had long lasting friendships with her many co-workers. She also enjoyed approximately 40 years in a bowling league at the White Oak Bowling Alley. As soon as she moved to Silver Spring, she joined Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and has held many different volunteer roles ever since. What gave her the most joy though was being around her family. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandson.

She will be deeply missed by her three children, Marilyn VanWagner, Carolyn Curro, and Evelyn King; her seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Adam, Eric, and Jaclyn VanWagner, and Carly, Joseph, and Christina Curro; her great grandson, Carson Curtis; her brother, Clifford (Bill) Johnson and his wife, Terrie Johnson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

We will all miss her beyond words but find comfort knowing that she is reunited in heaven with her mother and father, Clifford and Gabriella (Duckett) Johnson, sister Violetta (known as Lee) Johnson and sister Augusta (known as Gussie) (Johnson) Barnes. We know that her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all those who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Her wish was to be cremated and that her ashes be sprinkled in the ocean or bay in her favorite place -- besides home -- Ocean City. To view her slideshow, please click "Tribute Wall" on this page.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, in honor of her mother and sister, at www.michaeljfox.org.
