Lisa Ann Cain

Lisa Ann Cain(Hase'hoveoo'e "Stands Against the Fire Woman"-named after old sacred hat keeper Josie Limpy) was a very proud member of the Northern Cheyenne tribe, born May 17, 1983 in Crow Agency, MT to Suzette Cain Shreffler and Eddie Whitedirt. She began her new journey on May 18, 2021. Lisa lived in Seattle, WA where she loved being a stay at home mom.

Lisa has left us way too soon. She loved her siblings very much and for the younger ones she always called herself "Little Mama". Her home was always open to them and their friends. When they would bring their friends over to her house, she made sure they felt like they were at home and were part of the family. She has left her family but also many very close dear friends as well. Her personality and beautiful smile would light up the room and she could always make you come out of your comfort zone and enjoy life. She definitely was the center of attention when she was around, because she always included everyone that was present.

She attended most of her schooling in Seattle. She attended Lame Deer Public school for a short time and always said "Stars for life." She graduated from Montana Youth Challenge Program in Dillion, MT with high honors.

She met the love of her life, John Meuer, in Washington. From this union, two strong and courageous daughters, Alannah Cheyenne and Jeanette Rose were born. They will miss their mom with all their hearts and will cherish the memories they had with her. Her character has left an impression of who she is and will live on within her daughters, which is being funny, loving, courageous, strong, proud of her Northern Cheyenne heritage. She was the glue to our family: consistently checking on family members, providing a place to lay their head at night, feeding others and calling them. She could make friends anywhere at anytime.

The past year and a half, Lisa spent rediscovering who she was and who God created her to be, and was working on reconciliation with family relationships. This was done with lots of prayer, her sobriety and daily conservations with her mom and others.

Lisa leaves behind the love of her life, John Meuer, Sumner, WA , daughters Alannah and Jeanette, her mom, Suzette Cain Shreffler (Scott) of Berwick, PA, her dad, Eddie Whitedirt of Lame Deer, MT, other mom, Cindy Yellowman of Lame Deer, MT, mother in law, Jean Meuer of Burien, WA brothers Leslie (Trixy) Birdchief of Lame Deer, MT, Casey Cain of Seattle, WA, Kin Cain of Colstrip, MT, Rocky (Danika) Stone of Sumner, WA, Edison Whitedirt of Lame Deer, MT, Bob Stone of GA, Thomas(Jennifer) of Burien, WA, Robert(Rayna) Meuer, Sisters Lucinda Yellowman of Lame Deer, MT, Addie(Patrick)Gross of Hubert, NC, Edie Whitedirt of Birney, MT, Samantha Stone of GA, Linda Stone of GA, Hazel (Jamie) Carter of GA, Patricia Stone of AL and a special sister-cousin, Teanna Limpy of Lame Deer.
