Daniel J. Rooney, 69, of Harlan, IN died May 16, 2021, at his home. Daniel was born May 3, 1952 in Berlin, New Hampshire to the late James W. Rooney and Jeanne Rooney who survives.
He was a truck driver and spent his retirement years driving for the Amish. Daniel was an exceptional athlete and still holds his high school hockey scoring record with 145 goals. Daniel was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his five grandchildren.
Daniel is survived by; daughter, Laura (Adam) Snyder of Harlan, IN; son, Joseph (LeeAnn) Rooney of Dekalb, IN; grandchildren, Isabell, Jacob, Gavin, Gracelyn and Avery; sisters, Cathy (Jerry) Hosier and Carol (Art) Bunt; brothers, Steve (Marty) Rooney and Jim (Lisa) Rooney.
Daniel was preceded in death by wife, Diane K. Rooney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Our Lady of Good Hope, 7215 St Joe Rd with calling one hour prior. Visitation also Tuesday, May 24, 2021, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne with a vigil and rosary at 3:30 pm. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne
