It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we mourn the passing of Judy Gayle Phillips, of Hickory Creek. Judy passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 peacefully and surrounded by her family. Our beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went to meet Jesus after a brief but courageous battle against multiple medical conditions.

Judy was born in Union, South Carolina to Robert Marshall Harris and Ruby Vinson Harris on September 14, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sherry Hodge, and her brothers, Paul Kenneth Harris, Robert Harris and Joseph Harris all of Union, South Carolina. She married Donald Wayne Phillips of Gaffney, South Carolina on November 12, 1971. They raised two daughters, Kimberly, and Carmen and during their almost fifty years together, she and Don lived in Gaffney, South Carolina; Abilene, Texas and Odessa, Texas before moving to the DFW area. She and Don traveled to many beautiful places and on each of these trips, Judy enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and flowers from around the world. She enjoyed gardening and took great pride in the fact that she could grow beautiful flowers even in the harshest of climates such as West Texas. Judy was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Union, South Carolina and attended First Baptist Church of Lake Dallas after her relocation to the Lake Cities Area.

Judy is survived by her husband, Don of Hickory Creek; daughter Kimberly Blackwell and husband Lynn; daughter Carmen White and husband Lance; grandson Chase Burris and wife Samantha; grandson Colton Burris and fiancé Courtney McCormick; granddaughter Taylor Petty and husband Earl; grandson, Peyton Blackwell; granddaughter Whitney Johnson and husband Brady; grandson, Colby White; brother Danny Harris and sister Brenda Harris. She will be greatly missed by her three great- grandchildren, Noah, Harper and Leyton.

To accommodate friends and families from both, Texas and South Carolina, there will be two services to honor her beautiful life.

The first celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 24th, 2021 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Lake Dallas at 307 South Lake Dallas Dr, Lake Dallas, Texas 75065. There will be a brief time for visitation following the ceremony.

A second memorial celebration will be held at, Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Road, Union, South Carolina 29379 on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021 at 2:00 pm with a brief time following the service for visitation with the family.
