On November 2, 1892, Ellen married Robert Thomas Gupton (who used the alias "Charles E. Gupton" since he was still married to his first wife) in Russellville, Kentucky, she was 21 years old and he was 31 years old. In the span of 19 years, Robert and Ellen had at least 9 children together: (1) Edwin Darling Gupton; (2) David "Parnell" Gupton; (3) Lydia Ann Gupton; (4) Fairy Faye Gupton; (5) John Excell Gupton; (6) Marie Gupton; (7) Mary Elizabeth Gupton; (8) Hugh Virgil Gupton; (9) Leslie Lee Gupton.
Ellen passed away from Malaria & Dysentery at the age of 40 years old on April 21, 1912, in Morley, Missouri.
