Debra Williams of Herkimer
August 3, 1955 - May 18, 2021
HERKIMER-Debra Williams age 65 passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning May 18, 2021 in her home. Debra was born on August 3, 1955 in Caooperstown, daughter of the late Eileen Breen Lowell. She was raised in Herkimer and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. She furthered her education, graduating from the University of Maryland. For many years she worked in the office of her family's business, Best Plumbing Specialties in Myersville Maryland. She retired in 2015 and returned to Herkimer.

Debbie was very active in Maryland Mensa and the SCA while living in Maryland. During her decades of membership in Mensa she assisted with coordination of regional gatherings and enjoyed many group evenings at the Frederick Pizza Hut. She also cruised with members from that group several times, in 2010 on the Carnival Miracle and 2011 on the Norwegian Spirit.

Debbie was also involved in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). She was active in the Highland Foorde chapter in Maryland and enjoyed camping at both Highland Foorde and Pennsic events with the SCA.

Debbie was a very active knitter and crocheter and enjoyed the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival each May as well as the Maryland Renaissance Fair every fall. She always had a special knitted gift for her family each holiday and made many donations to area hospitals.

Debbie also was a member of The Crochet Crowd and cruised the Caribbean with that group in 2015 on the Carnival Glory.

Debbie had a strong faith in God and was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church in Herkimer. To her many friends she was a caring, loving and independent lady with an unforgettable smile. She will be sadly missed.
