He was born November 22, 1949 in Delaware to the late Darrell and Hazel (Vigar) Swisher and later graduated from Buckeye Valley High School in 1967. On November 14, 1970, he married the love of his life Mary Jane Coffee. Together they shared 50 years of marriage.
Steven worked as a barber for many years and enjoyed watching baseball, going to auctions and watching online auctions.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Jane; daughter, Mitzi (Will Christoff) Swisher; daughter-in-law, Tonya Swisher; brother, Dean (Terri) Swisher. He will also be greatly missed by his 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many friends and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his son Darrell in 2018.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware, where services celebrating Steven's life will follow at 1:00 pm with Hospice Chaplain Jeff Slider officiating. Burial will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery.
