Belleville, Illinois - John L. Roach, Jr., 78, of Belleville, IL, born September 3, 1942, in Axtel, KY, died Monday, May 17, 2021, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, IL.
Mr. Roach served in the United States Air Force with tours to Germany, Vietnam, and Korea. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at the St. Louis Post Office for 18 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Eva, nee Henning, Roach; a daughter, Heidi S. Roach; a son, Tommy Roach; and a sister, Bernie "Bunny" McDaniel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, nee Friedrich, Roach, whom he married on July 1, 1964, in Speicher, Germany; a son, Mark (Elizabeth Harris) Roach; three grandchildren, Heidi (fiancé, Brandon Schaefer) Roach, and Adriana and Jack Roach; four sisters, Libby (John) Popham, Pat (David) Thomason, Susie (Jim) Camp, and Helen (David) Hayes; four brothers, Danny (Beverly) Roach, Earl (Shirley) Roach, Greg (Rita) Roach, and Mark (Tonja) Roach; and many nieces and nephews.
