Susan was born on September 16, 1949 in Shelbyville, Indiana to the late Dorothy Irene (Tucker) & Ray Marvin Borders.
Susan married the love of her life, James A. Butts, on September 9, 1967 in Nashville, Indiana. They were married fifty-three and a half wonderful years.
Susan was a very loving and amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Along with creating special memories with her loved ones, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, decorating, and managing her home. She loved entertaining for the holidays and beautifully decorated for each one, making them extra-special and magical. Susan never met a stranger. She had a very kind and compassionate heart and always offered a helping hand to anyone in need.
Susan is survived by her husband, James A. Butts of Franklin, IN; two daughters, Tammy (Robert) McPherson and Amy (Earl) Johnson, both of Greenwood, IN; two granddaughters, Sarah (Ray) Horton of Whiteland, IN and Kathleen Johnson of Greenwood, IN; one great-grandson, Lane Horton of Whiteland, IN; three sisters, Glendola (Murriell) Phelps of North Vernon, IN, Marilyn (Steve) Kritzer and Rhea Borders, both of Bloomington, IN; four brothers, Charles "Eugene" (Lena Belle) Goodwin of Shelbyville, IN, Carl "Keith" (Dee) Goodwin, Larry (Donna) Borders, both of Nashville, IN, and Donald "Donnie" (Edna) Borders of Helmsburg, IN.
