He was born in Russellville, Arkansas on August 29, 1935 to Walter Odis Hinchey and Fannie Bell Hinchey. Bill married Billie M. Watson of Vanndale on August 9, 1955. He was of Baptist faith and a member of Vanndale Baptist Church where he taught the Men's Senior Sunday School Class for ten years. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1960 before receiving an honorable discharge. He worked as a foreman at Halsteads in Wynne, Arkansas for twelve years before becoming the owner of Bill's Pawnshop in Vanndale, Arkansas for twenty years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, eating out, and spent many hours watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren playing sports. He was lovingly called Papa and will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Inola Harp, Mary Crawford, Sue Lace, and Millie Andrews, nephew Buddy Watson, and great granddaughter Alice Anne Caldwell.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Hinchey, of 65 years, one daughter, Donna and husband Gary Nickles of Vanndale, three grandchildren: Jeni Abbott and husband Matthew, Jared Caldwell and wife Erin, Cody Nickles and wife Bailey, all of Wynne, two brothers: Bo Hinchey and James (Hubba) Hinchey, and six great grandchildren: Eli Morris, Austin Abbott, Sy Morris, Lucy Caldwell, Henry (Hank) Caldwell, Anna Claire Nickles, and special niece Kayla Watson and nephew Caidan Melder.
Visitation will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home, Saturday, May 22, 2021, from 1 to 2 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be in Vanndale Cemetery
