Funeral arrangements for Albert N. Burkholder, 93, editor emeritus of The Reading Eagle, who died late Saturday night in his home, 1340 Mineral Spring Rd., were completed today.
Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clcok in the parlors of T. C. Auman Inc. The Rev. Frank E. Reynolds, pastor of St. Andrew's Evangelical and Reformed Church, and the Rev. Dr. Charles E. Roth, pastor emeritus of that church, will officiate, Viewing Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock in the funeral home. Burial will be made in Charles Evans Cemetery.
Burkholder, dean of Reading newspapermen, was for 58 years actively associated with The Eagle. He began a four-year apprenticeship as a printer at the age of 16, served two years as a journeyman typesetter and part-time reporter, ten years as a reporter, 14 years as city editor and28 years as managing editor. He was editor emeritus for more than 19 years.
