Jerry W. Watkins, age 74, husband of Bettye Collins Watkins, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at his home. Born October 31, 1946, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, to the late Charles E. and Mildred Crawford Watkins, he was a United States Air Force veteran of Vietnam, a former employee of Georgetown Cable and E.D. Bullard and a retired employee of Monessen Hearth. He loved flying as a private pilot. A longtime Methodist minister, Jerry pastored at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and Wagoner's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a devoted member of the Harrison County Hymn Sing program.

Additional survivors are: a daughter, Lori Watkins (Jeffrey Alan) Seivers, of Cynthiana; two stepsons, Gerald (Nancy) Craycraft, of May's Lick, and Edward "Eddie" Craycraft, of Monticello; two brothers, Larry (Judy) Watkins, of Carlisle, and Jeffrey Watkins, of Flemingsburg; a sister, Carol (Alvin) Eckler, of Fleming County; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Nichole Stanfield; a step-granddaughter, Lisa Mullins; and two great-grandchildren, Elliot Wayne and Cooper Alan Burkhart. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Dennis Watkins , Ronnie Watkins and Billy Watkins.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. The family encourages memorial contributions to Bluegrass Hospice Care, in lieu of flowers.
