Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Jones and Son Chapel, Hattiesburg, MS, for Mr. Charlie Dean Jones, age 92, of Hattiesburg, who passed from this life May 16, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital. Visitation will be 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM, Wednesday, May 19, 2021. at Jones and Son Funeral Home, Hattiesburg.
Mr. Jones was a WWII Army Veteran as a Sargent. He retired in 1995 as an administrator assistant with the Hattiesburg Clinic. He was a co-owner of Hub City Mobile Homes and co-owner of Hattiesburg Aviation at Bobby Chain Airport. He was a 33-degree P.M. Mason Member of the Hattiesburg Masonic Lodge 397, Hub City Lodge 627 and Hattiesburg Valley Scottish Rights, and Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Louise Smith Jones; Daughter, Donna Jones Herrin; parents, Bill and Eva Mae Jones; brothers, Olan Jones, Otha Rueben Jones, Glen Daniel Jones (FG #130659107), and Morris Howard Jones; sisters, Betty Lou Jones and Joyce Graves; son-in-law, Jimmy Hodges.
Mr. Jones is survived by his daughters, Glenda Charlene (Donald) Bennett of Oloh and Eva Dell Hodges of Carthage; sisters, Norma Jean (Mason) Claudill of Virginia and Faye Marie Barnett of AL; sister-in-law, Dora Wediman of Louisville; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the owner and staff of Bellevue Assisted Living for the love and care they gave Mr. Charlie for the last 14 months of his life.
