Phyllis Artha Brogdon, 81 of Cookeville passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at her home. She was born August 25, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Philip Arthur and Ruth Marie Walls Pickens.

She was a retired receptionist at Dr. Sam Barnes office.

Phyllis enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, fishing and taking care of her husband. She was a member of Holladay Church of Christ.

Survivors include a brother: George Edward Pickens of Flagstaff, Arizona;, cousins: Lisa Benker, Carol Ridings, Connie Kauletta, Michael, Dwane, Mark, Robert, Ricky, Jimmy and Matthew Taylor; and special caregiver: Jill Certain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years: Billy Joe Howard Brogdon on August 16, 2020 and a brother: Philip Pickens, Jr.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating. Interment followed in Cookeville City Cemetery.
