Elaine B. Baker, 89, died December 19, 2020 at West Hickory Haven Nursing Home from Covid-19. She was born May 1, 1931 to Isedor and Esther (Karsinovich) Chernoff.
Elaine graduated from Central High School, Detroit, Michigan, Class of 1949. She worked at Henry Ford Hospital in Dietary Services. In 1949 she married Leonard Kahrnoff who pre-deceased her in 1980. She married Mort Baker in 1985and he pre-deceased her in 1992.
Elaine loved to entertain her friends. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Mahjong. She loved animals. She lived for several years in Sarasota, Florida. She moved back to West Bloomfield in 2011 and lived in the Hechtman Senior Apartments.
She was also pre-deceased by her sisters Gertrude Silverman, Libby Cherkinsky and Anna Chernoff.
She is survived by her daughter Jill S. Dunn (Craig) Carmel, Indiana, son, Les M. Kahrnoff (Loren) Sarasota, Florida and daughter, Cynthia A. Kahrnoff, Commerce Twp., Michigan. She is also survived by her loving nephew Edward Cherkinsky and his wife Barbara.
