James Oliver McGee, 91, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

James was born in Randolph County on December 12, 1929, to the late William and Sally McGee. He worked at Burlington Industry for 32 years and then retired from Asheboro Country Club. He was a very dedicated and God fearing man of the Wesleyan denomination.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Faye McGee; and brother, Samuel Donald McGee.

James is survived by his sister, Mary Frances Cook of Archdale; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021, prior to the service.
