Bobbye was born February 24, 1934 in Richland Springs, Texas to Robert L. Bolinger and Gladys M. (Shaw) Bolinger.
She married Jerry Petty on September 11, 1954 in Richland Springs, Texas.
She was a secretary at Young Redi-Mix for seven years, Fredonia Peanut Company for seven years and for Loadcraft for 17 years.
She was a former member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Brady Volunteer Fire Departments Fireman's Auxillary and the Women Involved in Farm Economics.
She enjoyed deer hunting, coin collecting and reading. She had lived in Brady since 1958.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brady.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm, Friday, May 21, 2021 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Dr. Barry Fikes officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.
Pallbearers will be Scott Willis, Lee Henderson, Nick Taylor, Phillip Taylor, Robert Jones and Scooter Nowlin.
Bobbye Petty is survived by her loving husband of over 66 years, Jerry Petty; sons Keith Petty of Elm Grove, TX and Brian Petty of Elm Grove, TX; brother-in-law John Ferguson of Big Spring, TX; grandchildren Kyanne Jones and husband Tucker, Grayson Petty, Kadee Petty and Lindsey Mercer and great-grandchildren Grady and Clancy Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Lola Mask, Leta Taylor and Clara Ferguson. Memorial contributions in memory of Bobbye Jean Petty may be made to Hope from the Heart, P. O. Box 1207, Brady, Texas 76825.
