Obituary
John Bethel Wise Jr. of Midlothian, TX, beloved husband, father, Papa and uncle, returned peacefully to his heavenly home on May 14, 2021, at age 73, after an extended illness.

He was born January 18, 1948, in Houston, TX, to John Bethel Wise Sr. and Peggy Apffel Wise, both of whom preceded him in death.
John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Raines Wise. He is also survived by his two sisters Kathleen Preece and Donna Parks; his son and daughter-in-law John and Caren Wise; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Leslie Seaton; six grandchildren, including Nick, Makena, Matthew, Anna, Sarah and Adam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was a dedicated, loving family man and a faithful servant of Jesus who wanted nothing more than for others to feel the love and joy he felt in his heart. This feeling never left him throughout his battle with brain cancer.

For most of his career, John was in the recruiting, staffing and consulting business. In his personal life, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling with his wife to visit extended family, working in the yard or garden, and most recently, studying the Bible with the many friends he has made since reaffirming his belief at Faith Bible Church of DeSoto in 2014.
