Karen Louise Butler

Mark says Jesus told his followers to go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
From the night decades ago when she was born again at an Alexandria Christian Worship Center revival to her last week with us, Karen Louise Butler followed that directive.

She undertook mission trips to Mexico and Eastern Europe and countless outreaches in the community.
Karen, 71, of Pollock died Friday, May 7, 2021 at Rapides Regional Medical Center after a sudden, short illness.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Eagles Height Church, 102 Fendler Parkway, Pineville, with the Rev. Ken Campbell officiating. Visitation at the church will be from 10 a.m. until time of services. Arrangements are under direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Karen was born in Memphis, TN on Nov. 3, 1949. Her parents were the late James R. Butler and Mellie H. Butler.

A graduate of Bolton High, Karen attended Northwestern State University before beginning her work life.
A veteran of the Louisiana Army National Guard, she worked in a Civil Service capacity at England Air Force Base, then joined the US Forest Service, working first in Pineville and then Ocala, FL.
